Handel: Acis & Galatea - a 'pay what you think it's worth' opera
Following on from the success of Purcell's Dido & Aeneas in June 2015, Bath Consort are performing Handel's opera, Acis & Galatea, with professional soloists and with Midsomer Choral Society providing the chorus. The performance will take place in the fine acoustic of the Studio, Victoria Hall. Seats can be reserved via Ticketsource.

A recital by Oscar Tabor (violin) & Jacquelyn Bevan (piano), to include JS Bach Chaconne, sonata movements by Grieg and Schubert, and Ravel Tzigane. Free entry with retiring collection in aid of St Mary's Church, Limpley Stoke, restoration appeal.
Oscar (17) started playing violin at the age of six. Until the age of 13 he was taught by Dr Robert Jacoby and then by Karin Leishman of the Alberni Quartet and since 2013 by Clive Hughes. He is a former member of the South West Youth Orchestra and since 2013 he has played with the Dorset Chamber Orchestra. He made his debut as soloist with that orchestra in 2011 and has since played in recitals for the Cossington Circle and at the Bath Festival ‘Party in the City’. Oscar will be studying violin at the Royal Northern College of Music from September this year. Oscar plays an 1891 William Atkinson violin with a bow by Richard Weichold of Dresden.
